Get Ready to Apply to Pre-K

Pre-K Admissions Overview

New York City families with children born in 2014 can apply to pre-K from  February 5-March 30, 2018.

Starting on February 5, you can apply online, by phone, or in person. Interpretation services are available in more than 200 languages for over-the-phone and in-person application submissions. You can ask questions and request information about admissions in any language when you call or go to a Family Welcome Center.

Pre-K Admissions Overview

In free, full-day, high-quality pre-K, children are in a safe learning environment with opportunities to participate in engaging activities and interact with other children and teaching staff. Studies show that early childhood education improves performance throughout a child’s school experience. Pre-K for All gives children stronger math and reading skills in elementary school and a better chance at success in life.

Pre-K for All programs partner with the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) to support all learners in building strong foundations for success in school and beyond. Programs build on the strengths and diverse backgrounds of children and families.

Who can apply to Pre-K for All?

  • Families with children born in 2014
  • New York City residents
  • Students who move to NYC during the admissions process Get More Information >
  • Students with disabilities Get More Information >
  • Students whose home language is a language other than English. No program may deny admission, registration, or enrollment to a student based on the student’s fluency or perceived fluency in English.
  • Students in Temporary Housing can apply to pre-K even if their housing situation is uncertain. They do not need paperwork to apply to schools, accept an offer, or enroll in a school.

PS 124 @ the School Cup Competition 2017

9 students from the PS124 Soccer Club participated in the City in the Community Schools Cup competition sponsored by the NYCFC.  The club produced a 1-2-0 record, just missing the playoffs.  It was a momentous occasion because this is the first time the club played together against players outside the school.  Despite the record, they played courageously and look forward to next year.
